Single grants to exchange students from partner universities

Subject to availability of funds, the Georg-Simon-Ohm University of Applied Sciences is eager to grant financial assistance to incoming exchange students who would like to take part in our exchange programme,  but find it difficult to finance the stay with us due to his/her financial background.  Financial assistance can be granted from the following sources:

The Bavarian State Ministry of Sciences, Research and Art

The Ministry is aware of the importance of international co-operations between Bavarian Universities of Applied Sciences and institutions abroad. Hence, the Ministry provides us with funds to strengthen and to promote our exchange activities with universities abroad.  The objective is to help exchange students from specific countries (cities) to lighten their financial burden during their stay at the GSO University of Applied Sciences. Grants can be used as subsidies to pay the monthly rent, health insurance, or to the living expenses.

Application requirements are:

  • The exchange student is in need of financial assistance (living standard of home country/city and the income and profession of parents will be taken into consideration)
  • Recommendation from the exchange coordinator of the home university.

Application documents should be submitted to:

DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service)

The DAAD is one of the world´s largest and most respected intermediary organisations in the field of higher education in Germany.  Amongst other functions, DAAD supports and promotes all areas relating to international co-operations between German universities and institutions abroad.  In this regard, we receive funds from DAAD with the aim to enhance our reciprocal exchange activities with partner universities.  Grants can be used as subsidies to the living expenses, transportation costs or additional language course.

Application requirements are:

  • Reciprocal exchange activities
  • Financial situation of the exchange student.
