2010年上海市“多学科背景下的社会转型”

研究生暑期学校招生简章

 

 

根据教育部《关于实施研究生教育创新计划,加强研究生创新能力培养,进一步提高培养质量的若干意见》,教育部人文社会科学重点研究基地——华东师范大学俄罗斯研究中心、华东师范大学国际关系与地区发展研究院定于2010712721在华东师范大学举办为期10天的“多学科背景下的社会转型”暑期学校。此次活动得到了上海市教委、上海市学位办的批准和资助。具体方案如下:

一、     主题:多学科背景下的社会转型

二、     举办时间2010712—7月21

三、 举办地点:华东师范大学

四、 举办目的:帮助学员们了解和掌握多学科背景下社会转型的基本理论与实践,综合运用多学科背景知识去观察与研究社会转型问题,同时促进学员与中外专家、以及学员与学员间的交流。

五、 招生:

1.招生人数: 100人。

2.招生对象:硕士、博士研究生和青年教师,从事国际关系、国际事务管理相关领域研究、教育、政策、学术交流工作且英语流利的年轻人均可申请。对国际问题研究有着浓厚兴趣的本科生也可以旁听生的名义申请参加。

 

3.申请方式:报名参加暑期学校者需同时提交网上申请书面申请及自己的导师或者领导的书面推荐信各一份。我们将根据提交的书面申请书和推荐信确定录取名单。申请书及推荐信格式及要求请到专题网站http://www.saias.ecnu.edu.cn/summerschool上进行浏览并下载。申请截止日期为:2010428

4.录取原则:主要考虑(1)申请和推荐符合要求,专业的关联性;(2)性别平衡、推荐力度强弱、学科覆盖面等因素;(3)英语水平。

5.录取通知将在2010430前在网站上公布,同时用电子邮件通知个人。

 

六、授课

暑期学校将由华东师范大学国际关系与地区发展研究院分别选派本院及国内外资深教授担任授课。

 

(一)主要授课内容如下:

冯绍雷(华东师范大学国际关系与地区发展研究院院长):多学科背景下的俄罗斯问题研究

 

(二)讨论

由授课专家主持,就多学科背景下的转型问题,组织暑期学校学员进行主题讨论。

 

(三)学员考核

如期完成暑期学校的所有课程、通过考核的正式学员,将获得暑期学校结业证书。

 

七、费用:

   本期暑期学校不收取学费和任何其他费用。我们将免费为正式学员提供在暑期学校期间的中餐及晚餐。同时,我们将为参加暑期学校的正式学员提供部分市内交通补贴。旁听学员费用自理。

Postgraduate Summer School for “Multi-Dimensional Studies on Social Transformation”

Summer School Background

In accordance with the official document Some Opinions on Implementing Innovation Programs among Postgraduates, Strengthening the Development of their Innovative Ability and further Improving the Quality of such Development issued by China’s Ministry of Education, the Centre for Russian Studies of East China Normal University (ECNU) and the School of Advanced International and Area Studies of ECNU, identified by the Ministry of Education as key research institutes for humanities and social sciences in China, have decided to organize a ten-day Summer School under the theme of “Multi-Dimensional Studies on Social Transformation”. This program is approved and financed by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and the Shanghai Office of Academic Degrees Committee.

 

Summer School Theme

Multi-Dimensional Studies on Social Transformation

 

Dates and Venue

12th July 2010—21st July 2010

East China Normal University, Shanghai

 

Objectives

The program is aimed at 1) helping students better understand and study the basic theory and embodiments of social transformation from multi-dimensional perspectives, and analyze and address the issue of social transformation by making use of multi-disciplinary knowledge, and 2) fostering communications between students and domestic and foreign experts, as well as communications between students themselves.

 

Enrollment Information

1)       The total number of students will be limited to 100.

 

2)       Targeted Students:

The Summer School is designed for master and doctoral candidates and junior teachers. Young people who are engaged in research, education, decision making, academic exchanges in the areas of international relations studies and international affairs management, with fluent spoken and written English, are also eligible applicants for the program. Undergraduates with a strong interest in international affairs may apply as auditors.

 

3)       Application Procedures:

An applicant should make an online application submission and submit a written application form together with a reference letter from either your supervisor or head of institution. Admissions will be based on these materials. The application form and the reference letter are downloadable at http://www.saias.ecnu.edu.cn/summerschool. The deadline for application is 28th April 2010.

 

4)       Selection Criteria:

a. The applicants should come from relevant research spheres as detailed in Targeted Students

b. Gender balance, the quality of recommendation and the relevance of the program to the specialized field of the applicants

c. English language competence

 

5)       Admission notices will be posted on our website prior to 30th April 2010, and sent to Individual applicants via email concurrently.

2) Discussions

Discussions will be hosted by the presenters to provide students with opportunities to discuss the issue of social transformation from different perspectives.

 

3) Examinations

Enrolled students who complete all the coursework and pass the examinations will be granted certificates of completion of the Summer School program.

 

Tuition Fees and Other Costs

There will be no tuition and any other fees for attending this Summer School. Additionally, for enrolled students, on top of a fixed amount of allowance for local traffic, lunch and dinner will be provided free of charge. All auditors shall be responsible for their own expenses.
