Contrast between the upbeat mood of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the PRC and the atmosphere of anxiety in Europe, the EU may face more uncertainties than ever before. Between China who is the new champion of free trade, and the US who is the isolationist, the EU's position raises complex issues. In this context, what uncertainties and new challenges will the European Union face in a new era? What roles will the European Union play on the world stage？It's a complicated moment for Etienne Reuter,an experienced expert in EU & Asian affairs, to make this assessment by giving a lecture respectively on new roles and new challenges of the European Union in a new era.
主讲人简介
Etienne Reuter（卢森堡），原欧盟高官、现诺丁汉大学中国政策研究所顾问委员会委员
Mr. Reuter is a lawyer & specialist in EU & Asian affairs, currently serves on the advisory board of the China Policy Institute of the University of Nottingham. He was the first Head of Delegation of the EU to Hong Kong and Macao(1993-2000), then appointed as Minister Counsellor at the EU embassy in Japan(2000-2005), and concluded his career at the European Commission as a Senior Advisor on the China desk of the Directorate General for External Relations (2007-2009). His distinguished career in European institutions included 13 years living & working in Asia.
