What is the contribution of local governements to economic development, the reform of public administration and democracy? What are the main challenges local governments have to face?

Yves Sintomer（依维·辛特默）是巴黎第八大学、法国大学研究院以及瑞士Lausanne and Neuchâtel大学的资深政治学教授，长期关注民主、参与式预算等方面的议题，代表性论著有The Porto Alegre experiment: Learning lessons for better democracy（2005）,“Participatory Budgeting in Europe: Potentials and Challenges”（International Journalof Urban and Regional Research ，2008）等，其中论文“Random Selection, Republican Self-Government, and Deliberative Democracy”（随机遴选、共和自治与商议民主）已被翻译为中文于2012年12月在《开放时代》发表。
