主讲人:Dr. Li-wen Zhang
Dr. Li-wen Zhang is a former official of UN, holding Ph.D. in International Trade in Service (WTO/GATGS Higher Education) from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Arts and Science, for which she was awarded a full scholarship. She also holds a Master of Economic Policy Management from Columbia University's School of Business (CBS) and the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
Dr. Zhang’s career with the UN spans more than 25 years at the organization's headquarters in New York. She has worked at a variety of UN departments and offices, including: Department of Political Affairs, Security Council, UN Charter Research Branch (2010-2013); Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Secretariat of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (2007-2010); Office of UN System Coordinator for Avian and Human Influenza (2006-2007); Department of General Assembly Management Affairs, Economic and Social Council Branch (1985-2006); Department of Public Information, Radio and Visual Division, Broadcaster for Chinese Language Programs (1990-1997). Prior to her career at the UN, Dr. Zhang worked at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York. Currently, she is an Adjunct Professor at The Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations at Seton Hall University in New Jersey. She has been teaching since 2005 and her graduate courses include SINO-US Relations, Global Health and International Development, Bio-terrorism and International Security, among others.
Dr. Zhang’s lecture will be based on her own rich working experiences, and to introduce as how the UN function as the most important global institution.
