During the past several decades, the world has seen major shifts in population dynamics and huge disparities between and within countries. Recent analysis by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) indicates that the next 15 years will be a period in which countries of the world will be more different in age structure than ever before. In this context, what international institutions can do to deal with the subsequent challenges? What can the latest advances in demography give us enlightenments? Charles Katende and Vivienne Wang, two experienced experts in strategic planning and population research from UNFPA, will bring in fresh ideas and practices by giving a lecture respectively on UNFRA Strategic Plan and new findings in demography.
