主讲人简介：Manuel Perez Garcia is tenured Associate Professor at the Department of History, School of Humanities, Shanghai Jiao Tong University which he joined in September 2017. He was Associate Professor at the School of International Studies, Renmin University of China from 2013 until 2017. From 2011 to 2013 he was postdoctoral fellow and assistant chair at the Department of History at Tsinghua University. He is also Distinguished Researcher at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Seville, Spain).
He obtained his PhD at the Department of History and Civilization, European University Institute (Florence, Italy) in 2011.
He was awarded in 2016 with an ERC (European Research Council)-Starting Grant, under the framework of Horizon 2020 European Union Funding for Research & Innovation to conduct the GECEM Project (Global Encounters between China and Europe) on China-Europe market integration and economic growth. He is the first (and so far only) ERC grantee fully based in China.
He is the founder and director of the Global History Network in China (GHN) the first academic network in global history established in China.
He is the editor-in-chief of the new Palgrave Studies series in Comparative Global History.
