LIU Xiaoting

Dr. Xiaoting LIU is an Associate Professor in the School of Public Affairs of Zhejiang University in China. She received her PhD of Social Welfare from Department of Social Work at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2013.She was awarded a scholarship from CNOOC and studied in the School of Social Welfare at University of California, Berkeley. Much of her research over the past several years has focused on the impacts of healthcare reform on health equity among the elderly in China under the background of population ageing. Dr. Liu’s research interests are health insurance, gerontology, informal and formal long term care financing and services. She has published 20 papers in the field of healthcare policy, long term care and poverty alleviation. She was also responsible for a National Social Science Fund project (2014), a sub-project of National Major Social Science Fund (2014) and a sub-project of National Science Fund (2015). Dr. Liu is teaching three courses of Social Policy, Medical Social Work and Risk Management for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Dr. Xiaoting Liu was the visiting scholar in the Research Center on Aging in the University of Southampton, UK, where she also conducted a ESRC sponsored project on the collaboration with professors in this center. Dr. Liu is a reviewer for some SSCI and SCI journals.
