HE Wenjiong

Dr. Wenjiong HE is a Professor in the School of Public Affairs of Zhejiang University in China, who received his PhD of Science from Department of Mathematics at Zhejiang University in 2002.

He began to study insurance and actuarial science in the early 1990s, and then expanded his research field to risk management and social welfare. Over the years, his research team has completed a series of important research work in pension, medical security, social insurance funds, basic public services, welfare for the elderly, welfare for the disabled, and so on. Professor He who published more than 90 papers and presided 16 projects which includes the National Social Science Foundation Major Project, the National Natural Science Foundation Major Project, the general project of the National Natural Science Foundation and the Major Projects authorized by central ministries and provincial-level governments. Moreover, three of his research results obtained the first prize at ministerial and provincial level, and a number of research results directly serve the national legislation and vital policy formulation. In recent years, he focuses on fairness, appropriateness, mutuality of social security, the risk of social insurance fund, intergenerational balance, longevity risk management and other issues.

Professor He is the Director of Social Welfare and Public Governance Research Center of Zhejiang University, the Director of Social Security Research Center of Zhejiang University, the Director of Institute of Risk Management and Labor Security of Zhejiang University. In the meantime, He is the Vice-chairman of the China Association of Social Security, the Vice-chairman of the Insurance Institute of China, the Vice-chairman of China Disability Research Society, a Member of the Advisory Committee of the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, a Legislative Advisory Expert of the Local People's Congress of Zhejiang Province, a Legislative Advisory Expert of Zhejiang Provincial Government.
