FENG Gang

I am born in Zhejiang Hangzhou in 1953. I graduated as a postgraduate in Nankai University. And I have been taught in Zhejiang University since 1986.

My major research interests are in the fields of classical and contemporary social theories, with social development theory in particular. I am also interested in social psychology, political sociology and modern community development. I have an extensive research interest in Max Weber.

My major research project are social development theory and modernization in China, Cultural and social developmental theory in South-Zhejiang, Developmental studies of modern communities, Policies Study of union organizations in the condition of marketing economy, and Social organizations and social governance.

At ZJU, I have taught courses on Max Weber, Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim and other social theorists. I also teach a course in liberal education on Sociology. I supervise post-graduate students in the fields of social theory, political sociology and social development.
