During the last few months of living in Hangzhou, international students from SPA have experienced several electronic services in Hangzhou, which is known as the Silicon City of China. As the Fourth World Internet Conference is going to be held in early December, Asian Future Leaders Scholars and master students majoring in International relations and Global Governance took part a special field trip about “smart hospital” and “smart entrepreneurship” to dig out more about the smart city, which was organized by Professor Yu Xunda on Dec.1, 2017.

For smart hospital, it was a little hard to imagine robots instead of doctors but what the group found there was more exciting than any robots can be. The group were guided to a clean, modern hospital while surprisingly, the usual hospital smell and the scary tools were missing.

A hospital without medicine and tools? Were the group in the right place? Yes, it was “WeDoctor Group”, which started as philanthropy and has become one of the most exciting developments in the medical sphere. What WeDoctor provides is Tele Medicine, Virtual care from professional doctors, connectivity and personalized care.

From people’s stereotype, hospitals are crowded and not very hygienic sometimes. With the long lines and intense atmosphere, people are likely to feel uncomfortable when entering a hospital. Fortunately, with the help of WeDoctor, people can book the doctors from the special clinics, which is a salvation for people who live in rural areas. Or download the app, they can get a smart AI doctor that can write prescriptions according to their symptoms.

Then the group headed out to explore smart entrepreneurship: “WeiLian” online space for modern investors and entrepreneurs. What WeiLian provides is information, connectivity and access.

In the age of technology, information is power and money. Potential investors don’t need to go to gatherings and meetings to find the next Google or WeChat. They just need to download the app and go through the database of startups which the AI will define into different classes according to investors’ preference.

The smart AI tracks all the activities of investors. Just by a click, startup people can see how interested a certain investor is in the project, which investor is more fitted for their dreams and aspirations.

In recent years, technology has entered all aspects of people’s daily life. We are on the road of building a better future for the next generations and as Mr Putin, Elon Musk and many others have mentioned, AI is the next global race. The winners will be the leaders of the future world.
