From July 11 to 13, Ren Shaobo, Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University, led a delegation to Macao to visit He Yicheng, Chief Executive of Macao Special Administrative Region, and Fu Ziying, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macao Special Administrative Region, to unveil the joint research center of Zhejiang University and the University of Macao. Zhang Weiwen, Vice President of the School of Public Affairs, accompanied the delegation on the visit.
During the visit to Macao, Zhejiang University and the University of Macao signed a framework agreement on the establishment of a joint research center for smart government. Relying on the joint research center established by the School of Public Affairs of Zhejiang University and the School of Social Sciences of the University of Macau, both parties will actively develop innovative research projects by taking advantage of their respective strengths. At the same time, both parties will establish a mechanism for regular mutual visits of research teams to strengthen cooperation in scientific research and talent training. Vice president Zhang Weiwen attended the signing ceremony. At the signing ceremony, Zhejiang University also signed a framework agreement with the University of Macao to jointly build a joint research center for financial innovation.
Ren Shaobo, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, attended the unveiling ceremony of the joint research center. He said that the two universities had a close cooperative relationship, carried out in-depth academic cooperation and teacher-student exchanges in multi-disciplinary fields with fruitful results. He hoped both sides would take advantage of cross-discipline and rely on regional innovation resources to carry out research in financial innovation, smart government and other fields. What's more, he hoped that both sides can jointly help the development of national higher education as well as the whole society.
Song Yonghua, President of the University of Macao, said that the cooperation to build two joint research centers would achieve strong alliance, complementarity and win-win results. The two universities will promote in-depth cooperation and make greater contributions to Macao, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay area and national construction through cutting-edge scientific and technological research and high-quality talent training.
