Academician of Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia Visits SPA-ZJU

On the afternoon of March 21, 2024, Professor David S. G. Goodman, an academician of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia (ASSA) and the Director of the China Studies Center at the University of Sydney, visited School of Public Affairs, Zhejiang University (SPA-ZJU). During the visit, Prof. Zhao Zhirong, Dean of SPA, Prof. Zhang Weiwen, Vice Dean of SPA, Prof. Gao Xiang, Tenured associate prof. Yu Hanzhi, Associate Prof. Zhang Yanhua, Researcher Fan Xiaoguang, Researcher Shao Li and Researcher Dong Zhaoyingzi engaged in a friendly discussion with the distinguished guest.



During the talks, the leaders of the School introduced the educational philosophy, school-running characteristics, scientific research and faculty background of the School of Public Affairs of ZJU to the guests, and proposed the possibility of cooperation between the School of Public Affairs and the University of Sydney in many aspects, including student summer school program, student exchange and visit program, teacher exchange visit, and bilateral academic seminars. Professor David S. G. Goodman introduced the educational background of the University of Sydney and provided detailed information about its affiliated China Studies Center. This visit not only deepened mutual understanding in the academic field but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation, reaching a series of preliminary cooperation intentions. With the continuous development of Sino-Australian relations, cooperation between the two parties in education, scientific research, and other fields will become increasingly close.
