School of Public Affairs Establishes a Dual Degree Program with the University of Macau

From August 19 to 21, Zhao Zhirong, Dean of the School of Public Affairs at Zhejiang University, led a delegation to visit Macau, China. The delegation met with Song Yonghua, President of the University of Macau, Hu Weixing, Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Wen Bo, Assistant Dean, Song Weiqing, Head of the Department of Government and Public Administration, Daina Chiba, Coordinator of the Master of Social Sciences in International Relations and Public Policy, and Wu Xiangning, Coordinator of the Bachelor of Social Sciences in Government and Public Administration. The delegation included Wu Zhongsheng, Hundred Talent Young Professor at the Department of Government Management, Du Jinpei, Director of the Youth Affairs Committee, and Shen Tian, from the Office of International and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs.

During the visit, the School of Public Affairs at Zhejiang University and the School of Social Sciences at the University of Macau signed the "Joint Dual Bachelor's Degree Program Cooperation Agreement between Zhejiang University and the University of Macau" and the "Student Exchange Agreement between the School of Public Affairs at Zhejiang University and the School of Social Sciences at the University of Macau." This marks a significant step forward in the educational cooperation between the two universities.

At the signing ceremony, President Song Yonghua emphasized that modern universities bear the responsibility of nurturing the next generation of citizens. The exchange program not only offers professional courses in both regions but also enables students from different cultural backgrounds to understand each other better and expand their social networks. Zhejiang University and the University of Macau have a longstanding relationship as key partners. He expressed his hope that the two universities will continue to collaborate closely, promote knowledge innovation, and work together towards the goal of building world-class universities with Chinese characteristics.
