On the afternoon of July 12, 2024, Professor John Molony, Vice-Chancellor of Deakin University in Australia, visited the School of Public Administration at Zhejiang University. During the visit, Professor Zhou Jianghong, Vice-President of Zhejiang University, Professor Zhao Zhirong, Dean of the School of Public Affairs, Professor Kan Yue, Dean of the School of Education, Professor Zhang Weiwen, Vice-Dean of the School of Public Affairs, Professor Shen Wei, Chair Professor of Political Science at the School of PublicAffairs, and Associate Professor Gao Naichun from the Department of Sports Science in the School of Education engaged in friendly discussions with the guest.

During the meeting, Vice President Zhou Jianghong introduced Zhejiang University's educational philosophy, unique characteristics, research achievements, and faculty background to the guests. He also proposed several potential areas of collaboration between Zhejiang University and Deakin University, including joint educational programs, student exchange visits, faculty exchanges, and facilitating graduates to study abroad. Dean Zhao Zhirong provided an overview of the School of Public Affairs and expressed his anticipation for further strengthening the cooperative relationship.

Vice President John Maloney introduced Deakin University's educational philosophy and detailed its collaborative background with several countries and regions in the Asia-Pacific. He emphasized that Zhejiang University, as one of China’s top higher education institutions, has made remarkable achievements in research, innovation, and international cooperation. He expressed the hope that both universities could strengthen ties in the future, fostering more mutually beneficial outcomes in education and research. The visit not only deepened the academic understanding between both sides but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation, resulting in a series of preliminary agreements.
