About SPA

The School of Public Affairs (SPA) is located in the beautiful Zi Jin Gang Campus and is one of the 37 schools and colleges of Zhejiang University, a comprehensive and leading national university in China. Founded in July 2005, SPA came into being at the crucial phase of China’s economic growth and social development. SPA devotes itself to excellence in teaching, learning and research, and to developing leaders in many disciplines who make a difference within the nation and across the globe. Through rigorous social science training and research, as well as hands-on experience, SPA’s graduates and faculty strive to improve social services, advocate for development, strengthen markets, protect the environment, and secure peace, both in their domestic and world communities.    

  

Consist of 7 departments, 8 research bases, 22 university-level research centers and institutes, 5 education & training institutions, SPA provides outstanding facilities for teaching, research, management and service. The curricula of SPA’s undergraduate, master’s and PhD programs as well as its professional programs and continuing education all combine theoretical training and practical skills enhancement in order to foster students’ abilities to understand problems, implement solutions and to think through a wider societal context. Students enjoy a variety of extra-curricular activities and take advantage of lectures, workshops and internships. The School draws its resources from Zhejiang University and the city of Hangzhou, and meanwhile extends a global reach, with currently a student body that totals 2000 and 5% international; 5000 alumni at home and abroad; and educational partners in Asia, and from the U.S and Europe.
